About Us

Founded in 1986 at the University of Iowa, Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc is a Latino-based fraternal organization with multi-cultural beliefs. Guided by our principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, Community Service and Cultural Awareness, the Brothers of Sigma Lambda Beta contribute to the advancement of the Latino community and continue to work on initiatives that promote social empowerment and promote the value of education. The national organization established local chapters at Indiana University in Bloomington in 1989, Purdue University Northwest and Purdue University-West Lafayette in 1993. From this union of chapters, the Elite State of Indiana was forged. We have continued to work together to nurture and further a dynamic, values-based environment which utilizes our historically Latino-based fraternity as a catalyst to better serve the needs and wants of all people.
